Message from our Founder

Since the launch of the SexyBeast™ fragrance and finishing collection, people have asked me what inspired me to shift my efforts from creating traditional human beauty products to a luxury pet fragrance for the pampered pooch. My first dog, a Boxer named Bosco, died 4 years ago after a year-long battle with lymphosarcoma, the third most common form of cancer diagnosed in dogs. He was only 7 years old. No one really knows what causes lymphosarcoma, it was a devastating experience but one that prompted me to start looking into the products we use on our beloved family canine; what ingredients do they contain, how are they tested, who is vouching for their safety and quality and are they 100% safe?

In the cosmetic industry, we have the FDA to help regulate what we use on our face, hair and body. There are certain ingredients that are banned, those that are safe, natural/plant-based, organic and so on. Upon researching the pet industry, I was shocked to find out that there were absolutely no regulations for grooming products or dog perfume. In fact, companies are not even required to include an ingredient list on the bottle. I could not believe that no one was regulating these products. This is why I searched for a reputable source to discuss the Sexy Beast product formulations - The Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine.

Four months after Bosco died I decided to rescue an adult dog who really needed a home and I found "Austin", a 4-year old white Boxer (and star of our website) in an absolutely hopeless situation. He had never been walked, socialized, cared for or loved. This poor dog was a mess, cuts and bruises everywhere, a damaged coat and a damaged spirit. He trusted no one and he would go after any dog that crossed his path. Getting him to the groomer was not a possibility and because of my situation with Bosco, I decided that I would take care of Austin’s pet grooming needs myself. I started brainstorming with a chemist who has worked with me on many of my traditional luxury beauty projects.
